The 2009 Open Canoe Slalom Championships

Gate 17: Mulberry Fork Races, AL

The ACA's 2009 National Open Canoe Slalom Championship starts July 31st and will go until August 2nd. The race is going to take place in Wausau, Wisconsin at the Wausau course which is located in east channel of the Wisconsin River.

Wausau Kayak/Canoe Corporation exists to be an educational resource to whitewater kayak and canoe enthusiasts, and to provide a premier venue for paddle sport related activities in local communities and internationally. This is a great venue that has hosted numerous Championships. Each competitor can race in up to seven classes with a maximum of three classes a day. Chairs for this year’s event are Ruth Jaeger, Pete Steffes, and Brian Heikenen.

This is going to be a great event filled with all kinds of racing and fun. Esquif is going to be giving away a boat! I hope to see everyone there. More information is available at www.americancanoe.org/Competition.
