Food Drive - Paddle on the Tuckaseegee River

The Dillsboro River Company will be hosting our annual food drive the first Sunday of June. This year's date is June 5th.

Donate 10 cans of food or dry goods per person and receive one rental of choice. We will be operating on a first come first serve bases.

We open at 10 am and the first boats go out at 10:30 and the last boat goes out at 3:30. All participants must be 4 years old or 40 pounds. (no exceptions)

All food will be given to the Community Table.
Last year we had 75 participants let's make it 100 this year!

This electronic version of Kayaking provides you with instant access to 272 screens featuring 10 kayaking video clips, 89 photos, and 16 slideshows so you can see the progressive steps of a particular stroke or technique.

The ACA receives a royalty on every purchase from the Human Kinetics website.

Competition, Festival & Music

Hi fellow Virginia Paddlers!

Our annual race is coming up! This year the Great Rappahannock Whitewater Canoe Race will be a one day event. All of the excitement will take place on Saturday, June 4.

Don't miss it! We've partnered with E3 Kids International and are bringing some incredible things to Old Mill park on the first Saturday in June. E3 Kids has gotten some good food lined up. They'll also be putting on a wooden model canoe race and several other great activities for families and kids of all ages.

Besides the great new things that E3 Kids will have going on, we'll have our standard Marathon, Downriver, Sprints and Canoe Poling events. To round out the day, we have two great live bands (Decades Late and The Green Boys) and an awards ceremony that should be like none other. Gander Mountain is again sponsoring the event with some great gear giveaways for door prizes.

AND last but not least, we're bringing the GEAR SWAP back. So, pull out that skirt that doesn't fit anymore, the boat you never got used to and that spare paddle.

Raft Guides Needed

Hello, this is Andy, the training manager at Pocono Whitewater Rafting. We are currently running our training program for river guides and we would like to invite the subscribers of ACA to attend. We are a large rafting company in the pocono mountains of Pennsylvania. Almost all of our guiding is done from kayaks, safety boating for self guided rafts.
