From Basecamp Cullowhee
As outdoor recreationist and professionals in the Southeast I thought that you might be interested in the 27th Annual Tuckasegee River Clean Up, coming up on April 16, 2011. This River Clean up takes place on several different stretches of the Tuckasegee which are all popular kayaking, canoeing, rafting, and instructional areas such as the Tuck Gorge (from Dillsboro to Barkers Creek), and East Laporte to the Cullowhee Dam. As the largest single day river clean up in the nation hundreds of people come out to support the river and pick up trash. Its free for all volunteers, we provide rafts, gear, transportation, a cookout with live music and door prizes, and even a t-shirt for the first 600 volunteers. I would like to invite you and your group to come out and join the effort, have some fun, and meet other people who are interested in preserving the beauty of the Tuck!
